So, you have declared to yourself that something finally needs to be done. That's the first step! You've admitted it! You can't think straight and have no idea where to begin to tackle the clutter. I am here to assure you that you are NOT alone. Many people are in the same boat. They collect things over the years, perhaps have inherited some of the items after a loved one has passed on because 'someone has to take it'. Perhaps you have a problem where retail therapy is comforting to you and you've been buying too much, or simply don't realize you're purchasing duplicates, in turn spending unnecessary money.
It's hard. I get it. I have been there.
Know that items are just items. You cannot take them with you when you pass on. What you must realize is that memories should replace these items. When you come to grips with this, you will realize it's time to start tackling the clutter and becoming a happier person with more time and less weight on your shoulders.
So, where do you start? If you are a self starter, you can try to take this on by yourself, or, if you need a push and some friendly (but honest) guidance, you can hire a professional organizer to assist you and most importantly, keep you on the right path. We are here to help guide you and keep you focused. We will also provide you with questions that will help you in the decluttering and purging process....Is this item bringing me joy? When was the last time I used this item? Would someone I know appreciate it more than myself? Am I holding onto it because I 'may use it someday'?
We will help you answer these questions. I realize this process may seem overly daunting, but please know that once we are done, you will feel enlightened.
